Today I am advocating for the boys and children generally. I have seen this trend where children are treated in some type of way, with little or no regard for their feelings or how the situation will translate to them.
I have even heard adults boasting on the fact that “Adulthood is supposedly meant for cheating kids or probably trampling on their rights.”
No! That’s not even right.
Your boys have feelings too!
Your boys have their emotions!
Your boys have expectations!
Your boys have things they grapple with.
They deserve to be heard!
They deserve an opportunity to explain!
Do not treat them less of a person just because they are young.
If you have promised a deadline or something and you can’t meet up, let them know.
If you planned to do something with them that will no longer hold, carry them along in the new plan. Don’t leave them to assume.
When deciding for them, decide with them. The downside of not treating your BOYS as little people is that they also learn to not treat people right because they feel it’s cool to not do it.
Let’s do the right thing regardless. Your BOYS are little PEOPLE.
Treat them right!
